Hi! It’s Suzuna Kobayashi. I’m in 71 at Tachikawa, and now I’m in Desert Ridge High School in America.

　I want to introduce my school life in America today.

　In American high school, they start so early.


1, I get up at 5;30 in the morning, and then I make a sandwich for my lunch.
　I think that the thing I have improved on most since I came here is making sandwich☻

　Then I always eat the same type of cereal: cornflakes.


2, 6;40 I leave home and I walk a bit to go to the bus stop. Before 7 am, I arrive at school, and then while I wait for the first class to start I talk with friends. I spend this time to teach Japanese to friends, or being taught English by my friends. I love the time!

3, The first class starts at 7;30.

　I take yoga class .  We stretch with relaxing music.

4, The second class is English. It’s like Japanese class in Japan.

　And, It’s the most difficult class for me because I can’t understand what the teacher is saying in English.

5, The third class is pre-calculus.

　It’s a math class. We are learning about functions. The content of this class is so easy for Japanese High School students, but we have a lot of words that we don’t know, so solving the problems are hard.

6, Next hour is lunch time! We have a cafeteria, where we can buy many kinds of food like Mexican food, Chinese food, fast food and so on. In my high school, there are more than 3,000 people, so lunch time is separated into 4th hour and 5th hour.

7, My fifth class is American popular music. Actually, I don’t know much about the class, because I changed into this class a few days ago. In my high school, we can choose classes, and are able to change classes easily. If I think I can’t keep up with a class, I can change a class to a more easily one!

8, My sixth class is clothing. We make clothes in this class.

9, My seven class is ceramics. We make bowls, birds and so on with clay.


　In this class, my bowl and a bird that I’ve finished making was stolen after I put them on a shelf to dry. Since then, I don’t like the class too much, but it’s a fun class!

10,2:30, it’s time to go home!! We ride on the school bus and go back home.

(It’s Peruvian food! My host mother is from Peru, and she sometimes makes Peruvian food for dinner.)

こんにちは。立高７１期生の小林すずなです。私は今、アメリカのDesert　Ridge高校に留学しています。今日はアメリカでの私の高校生活について紹介させていただきます。

アメリカの高校では１日の始まりがとても早いです。

１、まず、朝の５時30分に起きてお昼ごはん用にサンドウィッチを作ります。

　私がアメリカに来てから、一番上達したことはサンドウィッチを作ることだと思います。なぜなら、初めて作ったサンドイッチがとてもまずかったので改良に改良を重ねてきたからです。

　それから、いつも同じコンフレークを食べます。
　　　
２、6時40分に家を出発し少し歩いたところでスクールバスを待ちます。
７時前に学校に着き、授業が始まるまで友達に英語を教えてもらったり、私が日本語を教えたりしながら、過ごします。私はこの時間が大好きです。

３、始めのクラスは７時３０分に始まります。

　私はヨガのクラスで音楽と共にストレッチをします。

４、2時間目はイングリッシュです。このクラスは日本でいう国語のようなクラスです。

　そして、このクラスは私にとって最も難しいクラスです。なぜなら、先生が英語で言っていることが分からないので授業についていけないからです。

５、次は前微分積分のクラスです。今は因数分解を習っています。授業内容は日本の高校生にとって簡単だと思いますが、知らない数学用語が多いので苦労してます。

６、4時間目はランチタイムです。私たちの高校にはカフェテリアがあり、そこでメキシコ料理、中華料理、ファストフードなど様々な種類の食べ物を買うことができます。３０００人以上もの生徒がいるため、ランチタイムは４時間目と５時間目に分かれています。

７、５時間目はポピュラーアメリカンミュージックのクラスです。私はクラス変更をしたばかりなのでこのクラスについてはまだあまり分かっていません。私の高校では、自分の受けるクラスを選べ、授業についていけない場合は受ける授業の変更をすることもできます。

８、６時間目は裁縫のクラスです。このクラスでは洋服を作っています。

９、7時間目は陶芸のクラスです。このクラスでは粘土で器や鳥を作ります。楽しいクラスですが、以前に作り終えたものを盗まれ、それからあまり好きではありません。

１０、午後2時30分、家に帰る時間です！スクールバスに乗って家に帰ります。

（最後に載せた写真はペルー料理です。ホストマザーはペルー人なのでときどき夕食にペルー料理を作ってくれます。)
